Diaghilev Offices

DIAGHILEV OFFICES The offices of the Diaghilev is the headquarter of the Boutique Live Art Hotel in Tel Aviv. Set over 100 Square metres, the office is a hub for the hotel staff, maintenance, call centre, accounting, exhibitions and events department, in-house cafe administration, and general hotel management. Arranged around a central workspace, the layout physically, and visually links the private rooms of different hotel departments and distributes daylight to spaces that had previously felt disconnected.

The project exposes, in part of the rooms, a previously hidden topology above the office’s familiar suspended ceiling. Over 50 individually crafted lights, resembling hanging organisms, cling to the ceiling on adjustable mechanical arms. A hidden world is revealed by the shedding of the everyday office aesthetic.

The intrusion of raw building materials such as the concrete ceiling, into the accepted office palate, materialises in other parts of the space through the modification of office paraphernalia. Treated concrete panels, and plywood, replace table tops, whilst typical table legs are dressed up in tactile fabrics (designed by Adi Gittelson).
